Student Health
The Student Health Initiative is a partnership between Alberta Education, Alberta Health and Wellness, and Alberta Children's Services to collaboratively meet the needs of students with special health needs.
Regional partnerships consisting of school authorities, the regional health authority, the child and family services authority, and the regional office of the Alberta Mental Health Board work together to develop a joint service plan that identifies how they will respond to the special health needs of students within their region.
The Student Health Partnerships collectively identify needs, set priorities, develop collaborative strategies, and share accountability for the results achieved. This process results in an enhanced understanding of programs and ultimately better services for children.
